On Repeat - Bot’s Goin’ On?


4,000,000? Really? I would be delighted if that was the case but suspect that something else has a Bot to do with it…..;-)

So the page views for the blog have busted the four million mark! It cannot possibly be real - bots gotta bot and all that - but I will extend a qualified thank you to all those that continue to read my posts and comment as the mood takes. 

I will also extend a thank you to the Bots - wherever they are coming from…..

As a thought it would good to be able to isolate Bot views in some way so you actually see what is real but such a thing would be beyond my technical ability!

      Hi Bob,

      It makes a bit of a nonsense of the view counter as I reckon that I am probably a long way off four million! Still, at least the Bots are finding something of interest….

      Hello there GSS,

      It would be useful to be able to separate out actual page views from the bots but I am not sure that is possible. I think that the blogosphere will just have to accept it.

    The bots worry me too, the fact they are scraping content and I don;t believe they are in a position to discern between fact and fiction!

    Congrats on 4 Million! Bots are people too - or will be in the near future. Besides, it's always nice to see those numbers, no point looking a gift horse in the mouth.
