In doing so I will covering the period from 1861 to around 1885 although I reckon the basic system could be extended beyond that but that will be an idea for another day methinks!

All the best,

DCDavid Crookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02497436789811496047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472889370304077924.post-48577106787396092122022-03-30T16:03:59.008+01:002022-03-30T16:03:59.008+01:00Re aircraft and subs - One jump at a time - Ironcl...Re aircraft and subs - One jump at a time - Ironclad rules first!!

SimonSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16685946344478456214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472889370304077924.post-63386528495404669502022-03-30T12:01:36.493+01:002022-03-30T12:01:36.493+01:00Hi Simon,

The target could be deployed in the centre with the spaces around being used for the CAP and the attackers. Submarines are also something I have been thinking about.

Lots of mileage methinks!

All the best,

DCDavid Crookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02497436789811496047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472889370304077924.post-59390742623437630642022-03-30T10:31:06.135+01:002022-03-30T10:31:06.135+01:00All coming along very nicely. I am certainly going to experiment with these ideas but for now I want to hone the base system. Work is underway on finishing the rules and furnishing a better playing surface, not to mention building some more ACW ships.

All the best,

DC

David Crookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02497436789811496047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472889370304077924.post-77736289576497885202022-03-29T22:32:14.192+01:002022-03-29T22:32:14.192+01:00Hi David -

I was wondering if you do the same with the 3x3. If not, there are still plenty of actions within confined waters that are quite playable under this system, e.g. the attacks upon CSS Arkansas as it lay up close under the Vicksburg shore of the Mississippi, or the sortie by three CSN ironclads down the James River in January 1865.
Cheers,
IonArchduke Piccolohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15533325665451889661noreply@blogger.com
