Now here is the thing. After having fought Keder Sirt twice I am now itching to extend and expand the conflict using a combination of the famous blocks, Hexon, the 'tweaked' Portable Wargame Colonial rules, my own new Portable Naval rules and a large smattering of Bob Cordery's 1891 Imagi-World.
What am I to do?
Very simple really, and in the time honoured tradition of striking whilst the iron is hot I am going to fight a small mini-campaign based on the actual Balkan War of 1912 but set in 1891 and Bob C's world. The Balkrunian League will be attempting to destroy the last vestiges of Fezian power on the continent and so Forbodia and Epiria will be taking centre stage against the still formidable Fezian Empire. Rusland, despite her recent reverse at the hands of Amir Abdul Abulbul will be involved; albeit primarily from a naval perspective.
Even as I write this, King Boris 111 of Forbodia is planning plans and scheming schemes....;-)
I am surprised that the League are willing to risk war with Fezia in view of the recent Fezian victory ... but I suppose that it gives Rusland to get its revenge by proxy.

ReplyDeleteI concur on the Portable Wargame. I'm actually thinking of reversing your shift. I have my permanent table upstairs and wouldn't part with it lightly but I'm thinking of arranging things so as to be able to play the occasional PW down in the family room with our pack of hounds as opposed to watching TV or video while keeping them company.
The naval rules sound promising. So next time I once again re-open rules shortly after declaring them done, can I cite you as inspiration? :)

Seriously though, the naval rules are now as close to the Portable Wargame in terms of approach and technique as I can get them so I am hopeful this will be it (until the next time of course...).
The campaign will be good fun and is something I have wanted to do for ages.
