A very odd looking battlefield but you get the gist of it!
The missing pieces arrived this morning and so phase one of my Hexon accumulation is now complete. I have the hills, roads and rivers I need and anything else will be acquired on an as and when basis. There is a sufficient quantity and selection of types for most of the ideas I have and was purchased with the a standard Command and Colours sized set up in mind - 13 x 9 hexes. I am really pleased to have finally landed this lot and the plans for the inaugural game can now proceed, hopefully at the weekend.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure ANYTHING should be sung to taht tune, but your Hexon sure looks purdy!

Verrrry nice!
ReplyDeleteI wish you much joy of your new terrain!
ReplyDeleteHi Ross,
ReplyDeleteIt has been a long time coming (to be honest, primarily due to expense) but I am glad to have finally taken the plunge. It has presented me with a temporary storage problem though but this will be rectified over the weekend.
All the best,

Hi Paul,
ReplyDeleteIt is not complete but anything else will be on an as needed basis. I am really pleased with it and you will be able to see it 'in action' very soon.
All the best,
DC
David,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I am sure that you will get many, many year of fun out of your Hexon II. I think it was the best investment I ever made, and I have fought far more wargames since I bought it than I ever did previously.
All the best,
Bob
Hi Bob,
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to trying out some 3d Command and Colours games in due course so am really pleased to have acquired this at long last!
All the best,

Hi David
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of splashing out on some Hexon this year. I would hope that Paul Kerrison will give me a good deal.
I am looking at two sets of mixed flocked and one set of blue. This will be enough to cover a 6 x 4 as a large plain or with a sea edge for a beach landing. I would also go for some hill sections, an escarpment or two and maybe even a mountain.
What would you recommend?
Since I use several different scales I am expecting to make roads and rivers to lay on top of the hexes. I'll get a bag or two of matching flock.
Jim
Hi Jim,
ReplyDeleteI have a set of the blue and one of the green flocked. I wanted to get a desert set but Bob Cordery suggested that the mixed sand and green (intermediate I think it is called) may be a better bet. I am tempted by that for the forthcoming NW Frontier project.
I acquired a hill pack and some single one hex items and the rivers (actually streams) and roads. I would suggest getting a pack of single hexes for whatever set up you get - they come in handy for tidying up. The terrain lays on the surface and look pretty good. If you look at the recent 'Clearing out a nest of Pirates' on Bob's blog you will see it in all its glory.
I am really pleased with it although will only be fighting with an area 13 x 9 for the most part.
I think there is a discount if you order 3 boxes.
Good luck with it and I shall look forward to seeing it in action.
All the best,
DC
