Well done Holly!
Today is GCSE day in the UK and so my kind beautiful, intelligent, witty, and thoroughly lovely daughter went to her school at the bottom of my road to collect her results. Holly managed to achieve the grades above and so both SWMBO and I are very proud and, I am not ashamed to say, teary-eyed at her success.
Well done Holly, we are so proud of you - all that hard work has been worth it!
well done to Holly - and also in a year when allegedly the marking has been much stricter - so even better!
ReplyDeleteHi Steve,
ReplyDeleteMany thanks old chap and I will certainly remind her the stricter marking! She was only 6 marks under getting an A for maths as well so she has done really well.
I am reaching for the Kleenex as I type this - 'Gonna need a moment alone boys'
All the best,
DC
My youngest does them next year - we can blub in sympathy.... :o)
ReplyDeleteGreat results. I take it she gets brains from her mother?

ReplyDeleteTreat her to the best tonight. I have a daughter of about the same age so I can appreciate your feelings.
Educate me on your system - does she go to Uni this fall or next?
Cheers

Congratulations Holly!!!! A proud day indeed David.
ReplyDeleteCongrats indeed (my lad just passed his A levels this year) and I know how much pride wells up and how emotional we get :-)
ReplyDeleteDavid (and Holly), what tremendous and fantastic news. Well done to both of you - a fantastic achievement! Really well done, and just reward for loads of hard work. have a great evening celebrating! All the best!
ReplyDeleteDavid and Holly, that's absolutely terrific news. What a fantastic achievement - well done to you both, and also to the rest of the family. Really well done - I hope you all enjoy a fantastic evening and weekend!!
ReplyDeleteDavid,
ReplyDeleteThis is excellent news, and no doubt well-deserved!
Please pass on my congratulations to Holly.
All the best,
Bob
Well done to Holly, and contrary to what the naysayers mumble, the exams are a lot harder than made out. I was perplexed by Saul's history mock and I got a A level in the subject! :-)
ReplyDeleteWell done Holly!
ReplyDeleteExcellent results!! Congatulations
ReplyDeleteCheers

Hi Chaps,
ReplyDeleteTo each and everyone many thanks for the kind words and good wishes for my daughter. Holly has been really touched by this and as it has added an extra layer of enjoyment to her day.
For those parents in the same boat we have much in common - the endless homework, stress and anxiety, the self doubts and sheer bloody hard work our children have put in we have been the back stop for and the shoulder when needed. The work and effort has been theirs though and so the accolades are fully and richly deserved.
Holly is off to college in September for A levels in fine art, sociology, psychology and applied science with which she wants to go to uni with in order to become an Art Therapist. Plan B is become an art teacher and given her work ethic and perseverance she will undoubtedly be successful.
Try as I might though, I have not been able to persuade her to paint any figures for her old man despite her artistic talent....
Not yet anyway....;-)
All the best and many, many thanks.
DC
Well Done :)
ReplyDeleteGood news undoubtedly well deserved
Hi Geordie,
ReplyDeleteMany thanks old chap - she had worked really hard for the grades and so they were very well deserved indeed.
All the best,
DC
