Deep in the heart of Nelson country
I have just returned from a rather pleasant couple of days in Norfolk which included a visit to Cromer - the home of the crabs. Aside from the bracing sea air and a couple of rather good secondhand bookshops (and a pretty good model shop as well) I managed to pick up a copy of Tom Pocock's biography of Nelson from a charity shop.
Over the years I have played a fair number of Napoleonic naval games and have read a number of books on Trafalgar but have never read a biography of Nelson. This is a welcome addition to the collection and I am a fan of Tom Pocock's style of writing so will look forward to reading this. I cannot see me acquiring any models for this though - rigging 1/1200th scale models does not really do it for me - but having said that there are some very nice 1/2400th models produced by Tumbling Dice that may prove a temptation too many....
