Gotta love this kit!
One of the things I have been pondering in connection with the Hexon desert terrain I am in the process of acquiring are its uses beyond the Middle East in WW1. The next thing for me would be something set in North Africa during WW2 - or rather a good excuse for some kit-bashing. I have always had a soft spot for the Western desert in WW2 going back to making an Airfix 88mm gun and tractor kit with may father when I was a boy. The impression stayed with me throughthe years.
Which is rather embarrassing as last year I offloaded the entire Western desert section of my library so I will need to start again. Fortunately the Works at Lakeside came to my rescue and I was able to pick a copy of El Alamein by Bryn Hammond for a mere £5.99.
Monty, desert rats, Rommel - need I say more....
I have not given this period very much in the way of thought or resourcing but it would be great fun to tackle and will give me the opportunity to tackle once again the Airfix 88mm and tractor kit - Not to mention the Reconnaisance set . It will happen at some point and I suspect that once I get my desert Hexon it may be sooner rather than later!

I am preparing to commit heavily in WW2 North Africa in 15mm. This will occur when Battlegroup bring out their "Battlegroup Tobruk" rules which is scheduled for mid 2015 or so. Love the rules they make and am really looking forward to their approach to the Western Desert.
Its a period I've always fun intriguing yet somehow have never gamed. Lots to look forward to!
I keep just stopping buying the new Perry plastics!

I didn't know about the Battlegroup Tobruk set so many thanks for the advance heads up.
I shall be sticking with 20mm for this but can fully understand why 15mm gets the nod.

Oh man that picture of the 88 evokes some memories.... and the Airifx Lee/Grant, and the Pz IV, and the 25pdr and Quad.. happy days, played on the floor using Don Featherstone rules.. must be almost 40 years ago now! PS. Check the Minifgs N gauge stuff, I love it...

I have seen the Minifigs kit and it is very good indeed. However, the siren lure of 20mm plastic kit bashing is too strong for me to resist!
